Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Belmont Primary School is now closed for instruction on Monday 13 February. There will be no online learning. We feel that you need to support your family without the stress of online learning. We hope you and your families will be safe. We believe that being at home, and staying off the roads is the safest option for staff and families. We know some families will be impacted by this cyclone and we need to limit stress as much as we can.
After a zoom meeting with Auckland Principals and MOE directors, many school Principals indicated they will close so their school communities can be as safe as possible. My understanding is that all Peninsula Schools are closing tomorrow. We will reassess on Monday afternoon if our school will open on Tuesday.
The Secretary of Education has also just announced that she recommends all Auckland schools close tomorrow.
